Finding the Utah Monolith

can't be that hard

A strange metal pillar was found in the Utah red rock desert. The monument was found by Utah DPS during an operation to count bighorn sheep. It was posted to social media by the pilot Bret Huchings.

The first best way to find information is look for somebody leaking it. A user on the Utah DPS instagram gave the co-ordinates as 39°19‘15.5”N 111°05‘37.4”W. A quick search on google maps disproved this immediately.

Because the monolith was found by a helicopter pilot and all flights are logged and available to the public the flight that discovered the location should be on the public record. Utah DPS owns two Airbus helicopters.
